Reply Delete I think the authors have some potential, just in need of some more polish and plot/character development. I was considering reading the first book to get some context to the events that happen in the second book (and maybe it'd be a better read than the second), but from the sounds of things it just might not be worth it. As someone that didn't read the first book (I'm kinda used to historical romance series being able to be read in any order) it is really disjointing, and sort of gives away a major plot spoiler around the end (without explaining anything of course). Even worse, the second book really can't be read comfortably without the first, as they take place at the same time and events from the first book show up randomly. Has potential, but a few unexplained story details (like Graham and Archer disliking each other for being rakes). It also sounds like all the issues you had with this book are the same issues I've been having with the second. Man I wish I had found this review before I picked up the second book from NetGalley. At the start, Dream (sometimes called Morpheus) is captured by a lucky human sorcerer (Charles Dance), imprisoned and silent in the waking world for over a century. He's among a family of anthropomorphic concepts, like Desire (Mason Alexander Park) and Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste, whose episode is the best thing about the series by far). "Sandman" is about 20 or so different things and characters, but it can be boiled down to this: Dream (Tom Sturridge) is the eponymous Sandman, who controls the dreams of humanity. More: Neil Gaiman previews fantasy world of Netflix's 'The Sandman' with new trailer at Comic-Con What is clear is that fans of the comics are likely to be disappointed, and first-timers are likely to be confused and put off. Whether that's because the source material is simply too hard to adapt or because this adaptation got it wrong is unclear. The series is a pile of stories and moods randomly tossed on top of each other. The stories that make up the comic-book epic are sewn together haphazardly and confusingly, never building to discernible arcs and not even broken down into interesting stand-alone episodes. Excruciatingly slow and dull if not outright boring, "Sandman" is a perplexing failure. 7/5/2023 0 Comments Deep creek novelThey didn’t like it, and we didn’t know what to do.” “It just sat there flat on the page,” she said. Houston wrote the book, but no one liked it. “It was going to be about baling hay, birthing lambs, sub-zero temperatures and the return of the bluebirds.” “It was going to be all Colorado all the time,” Houston said. The publisher agreed, and they began to joke the book would be called “A Year in Provence in Colorado.” The book addresses her abusive childhood, climate change and adjusting to her life on a 120-acre ranch in the Colorado mountains. “Deep Creek: Finding Hope in the High Country” is a new memoir by former Parkite Pam Houston. I wished plotlines would move a little faster, and characters to be less predictable, but overall it was some great fiction. It had it’s up and downs, but was overall pretty enjoyable. Due to my need to always finish a book no matter how bad it is, I decided I had to continue and finish this series. This series, I started a while back, but never continued (until recently) because I wasn’t sure if I really liked it. Hi everyone! Today I’m going to be reviewing the Shadow Falls series by C.C. These reforms were substantially dismantled recently when, in a 5-4 vote, the U.S. Shirley Chisholm viewed her campaign as an effort that would give voice to “ all Americans.” In particular, Chisholm opposed incumbent President Richard Nixon as the embodiment of a “minority government” only interested in “representing the wealthy and vested interest.” The investigation of the Watergate scandal that began with the June 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters and the administration’s cover-up prompted congressional legislation intended to curb abuses in campaign finance.
